Bense In The Community

As a local business, Bense Vision is deeply involved in our community, supporting multiple charitable organizations. We believe in giving back and helping the people who live in the community reach their goals, or extend a helping hand if they are in need. Here are a few community organizations Bense Vision is proud to support.

Single Parent Association – this is a charity here in St. John’s that provides support to single parent families. Being the sole earner in a family brings many stresses and this charity provides an opportunity for single parents to regain control of their lives. Bense Vision is always happy to support SPAN, especially at Christmas Time.

We provide Christmas for an entire family; the single parent and the children. This includes everything from full stockings for the kids to a turkey on the table with all the trimmings. It also includes toys, clothes, new PJ’s, and gifts for Mom or Dad, too. We even provide the wrapping paper, tape and tags, just to make it all complete.

Iris Kirby House – this is a local St. John’s charity that provides shelter to women and their children who are experiencing relationship abuse. It gives women and children a safe haven if they need to flee their homes due to domestic violence. At Christmas, Bense Surgi Spa arranges for all the women who are currently staying at Iris Kirby House to come in and get their hair and nails done, relax, and just get a much-needed break from their current reality. Bense Surgi Spa also provides the women with special gifts and gift cards to do Christmas shopping for their children.
Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra – Dr. Bense is a long-time supporter of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. He is an avid music-lover, and recognizes that he is making an investment in one of the province’s most important educational, musical, and cultural resources.

“When arts organizations thrive, Newfoundland and Labrador becomes all the more attractive as community and as a home.”

– Michelle Smith-Antle; Director of Marketing and Development Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra
